The role of business is central to society. Not only do businesses provide valuable products and services, they also provide people with livelihoods and communities with economic stability. But more is expected of companies today.
Businesses are expected to take responsibility for their impacts, contribute to solutions and lead. Leaders will bring parties together – those with a vested stake in the outcomes and a willingness to share their time, expertise and resources to co-create and drive positive change.
This is the future of corporate responsibility. At Cone, we refer to it as “Shared Responsibility” because it addresses the critical needs of business while meeting the social and environmental demands of society. The concerns of our time are far too complex and significant for any single entity to address on its own.
